Becoming Best Buddies by Josh McDowell

Becoming Best Buddies by Josh McDowell  After David had finished talking with Saul, he met Jonathan, the king’s son. There was an immediate bond of love between them, and they became the best of friends. 1 Samuel 18:1 IT’S A QUESTION that may have puzzled you ever since you got socially burned back in first or second grade. You know, when you didn’t get invited to the party everyone else in school got invited to. You might still be wondering, “Is there really such a thing as ‘best friends’?” The best way to find out is to look at two totally committed Bible-time friends, David and Jonathan.  The story of their friendship is found in 1 Samuel 18-20. In these chapters you will discover that a best friend is someone who … loves you no matter what (20: 17) speaks positively about you when others don’t (19:4) listens to your problems (20:1-2) does things for you, regardless of the inconvenience (20:4) protects you from the bad guys (20:19) hurts when you hurt (20:34) understands your deepe

1 + 1 = 1 By Josh McDowell

1 + 1 = 1 By Josh McDowell  Bible Reading: Genesis 2:15-24 This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. Genesis 2:24 Do not commit adultery. Exodus 20:14 ALEX USUALLY HATED science class, so he hardly paid attention when Mr. Brooks started the demonstration. Mr. Brooks was saying something about "sodium" and "unstable" or something when suddenly there was a loud POP. Alex jumped a little more than the students paying attention and heard Mr. Brooks say, "And that is how violent just a small amount of pure sodium can be." Cool! thought Alex, who was now paying close attention to the science teacher. "Then there is chlorine. In its pure form, it is a poisonous gas, and only a small amount would kill all of us." Wow, thought Alex. Explosions and poison gas. This is cool. "When we combine the two ..." Here it comes! It'll blow your guts out while it poisons you! "W

TKSST : Unconventional Domino Tricks by Hevesh5 & Kaplamino

Image
Unconventional Domino Tricks by Hevesh5 & Kaplamino  The complex timing and physics mechanisms used within these  Unconventional Domino Tricks , a collaboration between domino artist  Hevesh5  and chain reaction YouTuber  Kaplamino , are really surprising. Hevesh5 explains: This type of domino video is called a domino “screenlink” where each clip is built separately, then edited together to make it appear like one continuous chain reaction. Kaplamino and I live in different countries, so it was impossible to do it all in one take. Doing this video as a screenlink was simply a way for us to make a collab video together. The first half the video was built by me, then at 1:44 it switches over to Kaplamino. What was your favorite trick? Note: This comes directly from their website. Click here for more.

A Spirit God By Josh McDowell

A Spirit God By Josh McDowell Bible Reading: Exodus 20:4-6 Do not make idols of any kind. Exodus 20:4 "WHAT'S THE BIG deal?" Omri asked his friend Levi. The pair sat beside Omri's family tent in the desert; the great Mount Sinai loomed in the distance. "Huh?" Levi adjusted his striped headgear to shield his face from the sand. Omri pointed to the front page headline of the local newspaper, The Sinai Grumbler: "Moses returns from mountain, reports Ten Commandments given to him by God." "I just don't see what the big deal is," Omri explained, kicking the pebbles on the ground with his sandaled feet. "I mean, some of these commandments make sense. But listen to number two: 'Do not make idols of any kind, whether in the shape of birds or animals or fish. You must never worship or bow down to them,' it says." "Yeah, so?" Levi asked. "I don't get it," Omri explained. He pointed to the sky. "Wh

DOGO News : Pig-To-Human Kidney Transplant Works A Record Two Months

Pig-To-Human Kidney Transplant Works A Record Two Months BY MARCELA BONET   JANUARY 12, 2024  In a medical  breakthrough  that could save thousands of lives, surgeons at NYU Langone Health reported that a pig-to-human kidney transplant had worked for two months. This is the longest period a  genetically  modified pig kidney has functioned in a human. The study, conducted on Maurice "Mo" Miller, began on July 14, 2023. The 58-year-old had suddenly collapsed and been declared  brain-dead . Miller had wanted to  donate  his  organs  after his death. However, that was not possible since he had cancer. Instead, his sister decided to give the body to the NYU team for the pig experiment. The researchers  connected  Miller to a ventilator machine to keep his heart working. They then removed both his kidneys and replaced it with one pig kidney. This ensured the body's kidney function was performed  solely  by the transplanted animal organ. To their delight, the pig organ began p

First Night by Josh McDowell

First Knight by Josh McDowell Bible Reading: Ephesians 6:11-18 Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil. Ephesians 6:11 PICTURE TWO KNIGHTS sitting on sparkling white horses. They face a gleaming castle surrounded by mammoth stone walls, which in turn are circled by a wide moat. Archers line the battlements, awaiting the signal to launch their deadly arrows at the pair below. The first knight wears a shining suit of armor. A heavy helmet protects his head. His body is encased in a massive iron suit; his arms and legs are enclosed by hinged pieces of metal. His armor is completed by heavy "boots" and rigid "gloves." The second knight sits astride his charger like the first knight, but the only metal he's wearing are the braces on his teeth. A backward baseball hat and sunglasses protect his head from the glare of the sun. His shirt bears a picture of Ren and Stimpy. A pair of shorts, sock

Which Way Do I Go? by Josh McDowell

Which Way Do I Go? Bible Reading: Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a person, but its end is the way to death. Proverbs 14:12, NRSV HOW DO YOU usually decide whether a certain belief or behavior is right or wrong? Do you: (a) toss a coin: Heads it's right, tails it's wrong? (b) weigh it carefully, considering whether it feels right? (c) measure it against what the majority thinks? (If it's pretty much accepted in your school, church, or community, it's probably OK.) (d) none of the above? If you answered (a), you've got a lot of company. Many people today make decisions this way. They may not actually flip a coin, but they don't lose any sleep over such a decision. They put more thought into what kind of dog food to buy 0l' Yeller than whether a certain action would be right or wrong. If you answered (b), you chose an extremely popular model for determining right and wrong. People who choose this usually try to decide what's right or wron
